How to Use a Satellite Finder to Receive Digital TV Signals

Image
Satellite Finder is a handheld device designed to help technicians locate television satellites in order to position satellite dishes. It’s a handy device if you work with satellites often, but most people don’t have any real use for that functionality.  They are simple to operate and are designed to be used while you're at the satellite dish so you don't have to check your signal strength at your television set. There are both analog and digital models available, both with and without internal power supplies. The digital satellite finder is microprocessor controlled, making it very reliable and accurate. Signal strength is presented graphically on the LCD display in form of thermometer-scale and in numbers (0-99). It can also present pitch tones (the higher tone the better signal) on a buzzer. The digital sat-finder  is very sensitive and can detect the weakest of signals, strong incoming signals (powerful satellite, big dishes) can easily be attenuated for better readout. Fe...

Automatic Transfer Switch - Power

Image
What is Automatic Transfer Switch? The Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) is a critical piece of equipment that alternates the origin or the source of power, typically between your utility power and backup/emergency power, ensuring your system’s ability to stay online. It is inherently important in making sure that this part of your emergency system is working properly. Also, because this particular part of your system is usually relatively complicated in nature, they are rarely examined or tested after the ATS has left its manufacturing facility. This is precisely why Industrial Tests, Inc. should be your first choice in ATS testing, so that you and your facility can feel safe and confident in its ability to transfer power, in the event of losing normal power. Automatic Transfer switch tests, tests utility power or standby generator power—and conducts the power to critical loads.  https://www.nfpa.org/codes-and-standards/all-codes-and-standards/list-of-codes-and-standards/deta...

Gasoline Electric Power Generator Home Maintenance GR 3500- ES

Image
The type of generator you use, the ways you use it, and use frequency will determine if maintenance schedules run on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis. If you are using a portable generator for emergency or standby applications, such as mainly during power outages – then your maintenance schedule will differ significantly when compared to a generator run in continuous or prime configurations. Continuous and prime generators are designed to run for prolonged periods and often act as a primary source of power, especially when working in remote locations that are off the main power grid. Due to this reason, continuous and prime generators require service & maintenance on a more frequent basis. PORTABLE GENERATOR MAINTENANCE CHECKLIST When performing general maintenance, generator personnel will inspect your machines, maintain records of their data, and practice preventive safety measures. Here’s a portable generator maintenance checklist to ensure all essentia...
